The head of annexed Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, reported an “emergency incident” on the Crimean Bridge in the morning near the 145th pillar from the Krasnodar krai side. Aksyonov also stated that “law enforcement agencies will provide additional information about the causes of the incident.”

As reported by Baza and Mash, an explosion took place on the bridge, causing damage to a vehicle. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, confirmed that a family of three from the Novooskolsky District was in the car. According to Gladkov, two adults lost their lives, while a child suffered moderate injuries.

“Preliminarily, it is 36-year-old Natalya K. and her spouse. 14-year-old daughter Angelina was taken to the regional hospital. The schoolgirl has been diagnosed with multiple injuries, a broken nose, and a concussion. According to preliminary data, the family was traveling for vacation from Novy Oskol,” Mash reports.

Currently, traffic on the bridge is blocked. Aksyonov urged people to refrain from traveling across the Crimean Bridge.

Andrei Yusov, a Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman, commented on the bridge explosion as follows:

“We can only quote the words of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), Kirill Budanov, who said, 'The Crimean Bridge is an unnecessary structure.'“
